INTRODUCE

Ma Xichen

Ma Xichen is a beauty care specialist. He just graduated from university two years ago. Unlike others, he didn’t choose to intern or work directly after graduating from school. He first gave himself a break of about four months. It wasn't until last winter that he found a job at a beauty salon in Bao 'an District, Shenzhen. “After successfully passing the internship period, I found a place to live in Buxin 2nd Village, which is located near the beauty salon. “ Afraid that the noise on the street would disturb his sleep, he chose to live on the top floor. Coincidentally, the deposit and rent here are relatively low. A 40-square-meter single room only costs 2,500 yuan per month, which is indeed cheap compared to the prices of other rooms. This also prompted him to make up his mind to live here. At the beginning, life in the room was indeed comfortable. Even in winter, Ma Xichen didn't feel particularly cold at home. Although there were occasional footsteps of people coming up to dry clothes on the top floor, overall, everything was within the range Ma Xichen had envisioned for her living space. The turning point began in early April when the weather gradually got warmer. When the weather is hot, the temperature on the top floor is two or three degrees higher than that in other rooms, and it is extremely muggy. Ma Xichen is extremely sensitive to temperature by nature. Such a stuffy room forced him to turn on the air conditioner. However, because the landlord installed a five-level energy consumption air conditioner in the room to save money, when Ma Xichen began to frequently keep the air conditioner on for long periods of time, his electricity bill started to increase several times compared to winter. After a year, Ma Xichen calculated the expenses. With such a large amount of electricity, he still spent about 150 yuan more per month than renting a middle or lower floor (the normal rent is 3,000 yuan per month). This forced him to decide to move out.
